This theoretical and embodied experience is focused on giving participants the opportunity to feel and understand the rotator cuff and the deep six lateral rotators of the hip. In this workshop participants review the anatomy of these “rotation stations” in the body and consider how balance and tone in these areas supports increased performance in the Pilates Method. We look at passive mobilization of arm in the shoulder and the leg in the hip. We use small balls to identify and release patterns of tension. We learn the value of isometric activity and examples of isometric\, concentric\, and eccentric activity for both the rotator cuff and the hip. In the second half of the workshop we apply this understanding to a beautiful and flowing class on the rotator discs. The class includes quadruped\, seated\, prone\, plank\, supine\, and standing variations that draw from both classical and contemporary Pilates exercises. Participants are recommended to have a theraband\, a pinkie ball or other small ball\, and a set of rotator discs. \nThe workshop recording will be made available to registered individuals to view after the session and will expire after 72 hours.\nRegistration: PMA Members: $50 / Non-members: $65 \nAttendees of PMA Educates: Rotation Station will receive 3.0 NPCP-CECs. \n\nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nBecome intimately acquainted with the location\, function\, and feeling of firing the rotator cuff and the deep six lateral rotators of the hip.\nLearn satisfying and innovative vocabulary on the rotator discs with takeaways for practitioners at all levels.\nConsider how to progress a client in healing and/or strengthening the rotator cuff and deep six rotators through a variety of functional movement strategies.\n\nClick here to register now!\n\n  \nThis PMA Educates workshop sponsored by OPTP.\nOPTP has expended an offer to PMA Members of $5 off pairs of the OPTP Pro Rotating Discs\nTo purchase\, visit https://www.optp.com/Pro-Rotating-Discs and use the discount code: ROTATION5.  Only valid on SKU #499.
